- Provide Linux systems administration support for MITRE's HPC systems to ensure the availability, performance, and security of systems.
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
- Deliver user support ranging from basic account management to applications support.
- Leverage and develop monitoring and accounting solutions that streamline administrative tasks and optimize system management.
- Assist the development and implementation of best practices, compliance standards, and security controls all computing environments.
- Participate in an environment that emphasizes trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort.
- Work in an agile model, delivering assigned stories as part of development sprints.
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- Linux systems administration experience (3+ years)
- Software development experience in at least two of the following languages: C, C++, Perl, Python, Java, shell scripts
- Proficiency in configuration management and automation tools such as Git, Ansible, or Chef
- Hands on experience with basic computer networking and routing including troubleshooting basic internet protocols (DNS, DHCP, BOOTP, SMTP, S/FTP, HTTP/S, NFS, CIFS/SMB, PKI, TCP, UDP)
- Experience performing advanced troubleshooting and system administration with Linux Servers

We are seeking an experienced Linux HPC Systems engineer to join our team
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly technical candidate seeking to be part of a collaborative team that leverages automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and advanced computing to deliver AI and HPC services to MITRE organization and its sponsors. The HPC team is responsible for purchasing, deploying, and maintaining HPC hardware and user tools for over MITRE employees. The HPC team engages with projects across MITRE to build and support computing environment for Artificial Intelligence, Data Analysis, Modeling and Simulation, and more.
