- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Align business improvement initiatives with the organization's goals and objectives
- Work directly with the various area leads to develop improvement roadmaps that drive improvements to site KPIs
- Lead and manage process improvement projects to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality
- Work with departments to evaluate ideas, drive organizational change management strategies, and sustain initiatives
- Coach idea owners to implement sustainable business improvement projects
- Identify potential opportunities and initiatives to apply and improve site performance through the application of an in-depth understanding of the mining business, key cost centers, business drivers and validate reported benefits against a common framework and methodology
- Facilitate data-driven idea generating sessions to identify, establish root cause, and resolve problems
- Use data-driven insights to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement
- Implement data analysis tools and methodologies to assess business performance
- Mentor others on a wide range of database and analytic techniques
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering or related technical field is required
- Minimum of eight (8) years experience in a technical role, including a minimum of three (3) years in a Business Improvement role, preferably in the mining industry
- Experience using Business Improvement tools i.e. Root cause analysis, OEE, mistake proofing, DMAIC, & 5S is required
- Advanced knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint, applications
- Strong Business Intelligence skillset, including ability to design and develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using industry leading tools and practices
- Proficient in data visualization tools such as Power BI or similar
- Programming experience in at least one coding language
- Strong interpersonal communication, written and verbal skills.
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a team environment and work effectively across all levels of the business
- A willingness to continually learn, both from others and from internet resources to keep your skillset sharp in a rapidly evolving technical area
