    Description

    Summary



    This position is located in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence & Security OUSD(I&S), office of the Executive Director. The Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence & Security (USD(I&S)) serves as the principal staff assistant (PSA) to the Secretary of Defense (SecDef) regarding Intelligence, Counterintelligence (CI), Security, sensitive activities, and other intelligence-related matters (referred to as Defense Intelligence, CI, and Security).



    Duties


    Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:

    • Serves as a trusted advisor on assigned DoD programs to obtain efficiencies, fosters an environment of partnership and collaboration, embraces increased program performance and effectiveness, and partners with government and industry stakeholders to define and achieve the program goals.
    • Work with University Affiliated Research Centers (UARCs) and Federally Funded Research Centers to address Government research priorities.
    • Advises the OUSD(I&S) Executive Director and other senior DoD leadership on potential issues or roadblocks affecting assigned DoD programs, policy, and oversight. Develops a recommended position ensuring technology and policy solutions are consistent with applicable laws, regulations, principals and standards.
    • Represents OUSD(I&S) on DoD and interagency committees, working groups, and task forces established to formulate, coordinate, to ensure alignment and advancement of assigned program.
    • Coordinates with DoD components, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Intelligence Community organizations, and other Executive Branch agencies on matters pertaining to, or affecting assigned DoD programs.
