About our Department:

The Finance Department is responsible for monitoring the financial performance for City departments, managing the procurement of goods and services for the city, and managing the city's cash flow from taxes, resources, and debt.

Finance further provides the citizens of Huntsville, elected officials, city departments and other parties financial services and financial management information.

Revenue Analyst Position Overview:

This is administrative and technical work in the management of all business accounts, including licensing and tax information, for the City of Huntsville.

Work requires the assessment of the appropriate licensing type and associated taxes for new business accounts per the state code and local ordinances.

Work involves proper regulation compliance, database management, and is responsible for creating, managing, analyzing, and reporting on grouping information such as TIF accounts, business nodes, mall, mid-city, etc.

Work also involves interacting and educating business owners, the public, and City personnel on the remittance of license and tax payments.

Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements:
High school diploma from a school accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or GED certificate issued by the appropriate state agency.
Associates and/or bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S.

Department of Education preferred; experience with collections/billing processing, database management, financial software, and license and tax esp.; Alabama code and rules preferred.

Possession of a valid driver's license.
