    The Admiral Hotel, located in the heart of Mobile, is seeking to hire a dedicated and reliable Housperson to join our housekeeping team We are looking for Full-Time team members.

    WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Housepersons are responsible for a variety of tasks in the housekeeping department. Some of these tasks include distributing linen to room attendants throughout the day, stripping dirty linen and trash from hallways and carts, restocking storage closets with supplies, and maintaining the cleanliness of staircases, ice machines, storage closets and corridors daily. General upkeep of carpets and floors.

    MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
    • Arrive at scheduled time with a positive attitude.
    • Maintain a neat, groomed appearance, with clean pressed uniform and name tag.
    • Be sure to get a radio for communication.
    • Check with the manager on duty regarding any special projects.
    • Walk corridors and pull elevator trash.
    • Stock housekeeping carts with linen.
    • Distribute the linen to housekeeping carts neatly.
    • Check the balcony for trash and chairs.
    • Clean ice machines.
    • Sweep and mop corridors.
    • Sweep staircases.
    • Maintain the cleanliness of storage closets.
    • Restock storage closets with guest room supplies.
    • Communicate with assigned housekeepers throughout the day.
    • Participates in monthly inventory
    • Organizes incoming linen in such a way that it is sorted by type and placed neatly on the linen shelves.
    • Gather dirty linen from housekeepers and bring to laundry in a timely manner
    • Assist third party vendor in bringing in and taking out carts containing dirty & clean linen
    • Occasional use of carpet extractor and floor machines
    • Willingness to assist moving furniture as needed.
    • Willingness to assist with incoming deliveries as needed.
    • Willingness to assist the engineering team with minor maintenance issues
    • Performs other reasonable duties as directed by the leadership team.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    No supervision required.


    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent.

    Experience:

    At least 1-2 years experience in housekeeping

    Skills:

    • Ability to communicate in English with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding.
    • Ability to count.
    • Ability to perform assigned tasks with attention to detail, essential speed and accuracy.
    • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
    • Ability to distribute linen and supplies to guests and housekeepers at a timely manner.
    • Ability to complete work in a timely manner.
    • Strong positive attitude and the ability to greet every guest.
    • Ability to follow through with a task.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Equipment to Be Used: Radio, cart, broom, dustpan, mop/bucket.

    Physical & Mental Requirements:

    • Able to stand.
    • Able to continually walk.
    • Able to squat.
    • Able to push and pull.
    • Able to comply with policies, procedures and codes of ethics.
    • Lift 50 lbs

    Work Environment:

    • Work generally performed on the corridors helping out housekeepers . Maintaining the cleanliness of ice machines ,closets,staircases and floors. Pulling and removing trash throughout the day so that corridors are presentable for our guests.
