    Description:


    This position is 3 days a week, 12-hour shifts and requires the ability to work any day of the week.

    The scheduled days will vary each week, including weekends.


    Hours:
    6:30 pm - 7:00 am


    • Initiates and receives communications from Nursing Unit Director or designated Charge Nurse and Nursing Unit staff verbally, via telephone, mail, pneumatic tube, and computer system.
    • Demonstrates skills and knowledge to effectively communicate with patients or their families to meet the needs of the population served.
    • Assembles new charts, records specified clinical information, files reports, imprints forms in clinical record, checks discharge chart for completion by nurse responsible, maintains patient records.
    • Operates computer for transcribing diagnostic orders and other computer transactions as resented.
    • Maintains pertinent hospital data and records.
    • Orders and maintains supplies for the nursing unit.
    • Responds and contributes to written and oral communications.
    • Actively participates in all Codes and drills as scheduled.
    • Attends, participates, and supports in-service education programs.
    • Complies with departmental and hospital- wide policies and procedures.
    • Performs other job-related duties within job scope as requested by supervisor.
    Minimum Qualifications


    • High school graduate.
    • Certificate of satisfactory completion of a formal program of instruction as a Unit Clerk preferred.
    • Good customer-service and communication skills.
