    DESCRIPTION
    The UC San Diego Rady School of Management provides exceptional business education through its many academic degree programs. The Rady School's values are excellence, innovation, collaboration and integrity.

    The Beyster Institute provides consulting services to a variety of business entities interested in exploring ESOPs (employee stock option plans).

    This position contributes to billable projects by working as part of a team with other consultants on client projects. The position receives project assignments related to financial modeling and forecasting related to employee ownership consulting projects. This position assists more senior consultants with business projects encompassing finance, accounting, tax, equity compensation, retirement plans (i.e. ESOPs employee stock option plans) and business management.

    The focus of this position is to use qualitative, quantitative and technical skills, including forecasting and financial modeling to contribute to client projects.

    The position uses a complex Excel-based forecasting model that is a core component of consulting projects.

    The position works on needs assessments, feasibility studies, forecasting, business reports, and business projectionsall with a focus on the specialized area of employee ownership and equity compensation plans.

    This position interacts with clients in a support role under the direction of other consultants and to a small degree, independently.

    There is the possibility for professional growth and promotion in this thriving niche consulting specialty while also enjoying the benefits of a mentoring atmosphere in a university environment.

    This position interacts with graduate students from the Rady School's MBA and Finance programs, orienting them to the Beyster Institute's mission, staff and work expectations, and may train them on the use of the forecasting model used by the Beyster Institute.


    QUALIFICATIONS


    Experience in an employee ownership firm or knowledge of employee ownership concepts, employee stock ownership plans, employee benefit plans, employee equity, employee ownership financing structures.

    Bachelor's degree or better in Business Administration/Accounting/Finance/ Economics / Taxation coupled with 1 year of business/consulting experience or or comparable level of education and experience.

    Experience with financial modeling and financial analysis for multimillion dollar businesses/industries. Data modeling background. Strong experience forecasting.
    Some experience in business consulting and/or business advising. Some experience conducting an analysis of business strategies, business options, industry trends, etc.
    Advanced Excel skills to manipulate data. Experience downloading data from multiple large data sources, financial software, proprietary software, and company databases. Experience using pivot tables, v-lookup and more advanced Excel features related to data modeling and forecasting.
    Ability to learn project management, client management skills.
    Demonstrates ability to learn quickly, reason, synthesize and generalize based on information obtained. Experience searching for, gathering, interpreting, and analyzing regulatory and financial information related to business entities.
    Experience using a Excel-based financial model used in real-world scenarios. Experience writing basic code, making adaptations, in response to business needs.
    Business-like verbal and written communication skills. Professional communication skills including diplomatic, tactful communications skills.
    Experience working as a team to produce summaries and written reports for business clients. Experience proofreading drafts of reports & documents for a business audience.
    Collaboration skills.

    Experience efficiently and effectively assisting others on producing quality consulting projects while working on a timeline and achieving performance objectives.

    Experience interacting with peers, sharing information, and receiving assignments from others.
    Experience working with a Client Relationship Management (CRM) system; experience tracking client contacts using a CRM, ideally Salesforce.

    Preferred:
    Graduate degree in Business (MBA), Finance, Business Analytics, Accounting, Law or related field;

    Job offer is contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on Background Check results.
    Pay Transparency Act

    Annual Full Pay Range:
    $67,200 - $119,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

    Hourly Equivalent:
    $ $57.28


    Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

    The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.

    The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
