    Position Overview:

    Astria Therapeutics is focused on providing life-changing treatments for patients and families impacted by allergic and immunological conditions. The company's pipeline includes STAR-0215, a monoclonal antibody inhibitor for hereditary angioedema, and STAR-0310, an OX40 monoclonal antibody antagonist for atopic dermatitis and other related conditions.

    We are looking for a seasoned professional to join Astria as the Vice President, Patient Affairs. In this role, you will lead patient advocacy and engagement globally, along with government affairs. Your responsibilities will involve shaping the patient affairs strategy from preclinical stages to commercialization, playing a crucial role in ensuring patient perspectives drive our programs at Astria. Reporting to the Chief Business Officer, you will champion patients' needs within the organization and oversee government affairs initiatives.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and execute the global patient affairs strategy across Astria's pipeline, ensuring alignment with key markets.
    • Establish strategic partnerships with patient advocacy groups, policymakers, and patients/caregivers to advance patient-centered drug development.
    • Cultivate a patient-centric culture within Astria.
    • Represent Astria at patient advocacy events, scientific conferences, and foster relationships with stakeholders.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with program teams, research, clinical development, and other departments to prioritize patient insights throughout the development process.
    • Integrate patient experiences into business development decisions and expansion opportunities.
    • Lead government affairs strategies to support policy objectives and build relationships with legislators.
    • Manage relationships with the Rare Disease Company Coalition.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred
    • 15+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience with significant patient advocacy background
    • Demonstrated ability to lead patient affairs in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology environment
    • Strong leadership skills with a focus on strategic planning and team development
    • Proven track record of engaging with patient advocacy organizations
    • Understanding of legal and compliance frameworks related to patient advocacy
    • Experience in government affairs strategies
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
