    Job Description

    The Technical Manager will improve team performance through quality program updates and process improvements, deliver customer satisfaction and maintain excellent relationships with customer managers. Additionally, you are responsible for accelerating technical competencies of team members by developing and implementing growth plans.

    Job Duties
    • Technical Specialists have all the resources they need to ensure projects have procedures, Deliverable Requirement Documents (DRDs), Quality Management Procedures, task kickoffs, training material, etc. in place and are used. These are all in place prior to Reliability Data Analysts starting work to minimize rework.
    • In addition to DRDs, a small batch of sample deliverables is accepted promptly by the customer to ensure alignment prior to starting significant project work. Technical Managers are accountable for customer expectation setting and accomplish this by supporting Technical Specialists with DRDs and prompt small-batch delivery.
    • Technical issues are identified, logged, and resolved promptly once Technical Specialists escalate issues to Technical Managers.
    • A method to measure and track competencies is in place and used to accelerate the technical development of all team members. The Technical Manager will actively review upcoming scopes of work and team competency, and design/deploy training and job aids to upskill team competency prior to starting work. Technical Specialists work at the direction of Technical Managers to support the delivery of training and adoption of job aids.
    • The customer's complex challenges are solved and receive excellent service through strong personal, insightful relationships.
    • Technical Manager continuously grows breadth and depth of knowledge and translates knowledge to impact.
    Accountabilities
    • Customer relationship building, expectation setting, and challenge resolution
    • Gross margin increases through process improvements, streamlining workflows, and reducing Cost of Quality.
    • Accelerated technical development of all team members
    Required Qualifications
    • Engineering Degree
    • Minimum 10 years experience working in a technical leadership role in or around a process facility environment
    • Owner/operator experience, working directly with fixed-equipment
    • Consultative relationship building to understand customer pain points and assemble an effective team to solve them.
    • Strategic planning abilities to work with a Project Manager to translate a statement of work into a project plan with the right WBS, the hours required, and a proactive list of risks to mitigate that is documented in the project risk log.
    • Financial acumen to connect project results to Pinnacle financials.
    • Discipline to follow technical blueprints and ensure all projects follow Pinnacle best practices and intervene when issues arise.
    • Strong fact finder to perform root cause analysis and decisive to act and follow through when a decision is made.
    • Experienced leadership abilities to act when Technical Specialists escalate issues. Excellent coaching skills and a natural desire to help people through their development.
    • Ability to monitor team performance through others, striking the balance between empowering a team while not abdicating ownership of results. Ability to make corrections quickly by understanding the current state of all projects.
    • Excellent meeting facilitation skills and capable of producing polished reports.
    • Highly effective communication skills that adapt to how others want to be communicated.
    • Advocate for Pinnacle so customers are always aware of who we are and the value of what we do.

Working closely with others or working alone. Working extended or irregular hours and travelling by all possible modes of transportation.
