Responsibilities
- Communicates effectively via two-way radio computer email telephone and verbal communications within Hospital Police Department.
- Assist with mental health patient custody issues escort patients to units in house within Hospitals respond smoke trouble or fire alarms required participates Emergency Response Team provide access involved area emergency situations at Hospital assists removing unauthorized persons Hospital property maintains working knowledge emergency codes police response procedures responds appropriately timely manner any all emergency situations activated security alarms controls patient visitor entry E.D. operates metal screening system prevent weapons contraband entering treatment area maintains parking lot surveillance assure safety ensure availability customers night entrance screens proper authorization identification staffs other posts needed complete trespass reports into departmental records management system takes custody items found secures attempts return property initiates risk assessments D.O.C inmates patients employees required submits daily activity logs/reports shift approved supervisor knowledgeable security sensitive areas Security Mg plan patrol area policy escorts employees patients visitors secured areas authorized personnel collects inventories secures patient property cashiers office open patrols assigned area documents/reports security safety hazards locks/unlocks designated doors assures deceased bodies entered properly released morgue ID transports commitment documents Magistrates office interacts personnel patrol areas challenges suspicious persons encountered completes/documents required number patrols specified Shift Lieutenant Sergeant intervenes redirects observed violation UNC Health Care Tobacco-Free Workplace policy conducts parking surveys requested/enforced applicable regulations initiates towing vehicles requires reports malfunction citation writing equipment proper persons assure repaired patents illegally parked unauthorized vehicles proactive manner.
