Performs clerical duties on the unit under the direction of the Licensed Nursing Personnel Applies proper and professional communication skills between personnel within the department and to other departments in relationship to patient care Presents a personable and professional attitude to physicians patients families visitors and co-workers Provides clinical patient care support in a caring safe efficient manner under the direction of an RN Performs other functions including phlebotomy EKG lead placement and respiratory functions This employee adheres to the values of patient and family centered care
Responsibilities
- Transcribes computes physician orders department orders messages accurately Writes legibly transcribes orders accurately Assembles maintains proper order records within chart Sets up admission charts disassembles discharged transferred charts checking for completeness Handles desk communications properly promptly responds immediately intercom pages routes messages appropriate person Replaces forms necessary patient medical records Routes requests information nurse promptly accurately Communicates physician orders responsible nurse Collects required data Measures documents intake output heights weights vital signs Applies monitors documents restraint usage Collects urine stool sputum specimens Performs documents point-care testing Performs documents mobility exercise comfort rest sleep needs performs documents hygiene grooming dressing skin nail dietary toileting elimination needs Organizes equipment supplies Completes bedmaking cleaning assignments unit Safely correctly operates equipment beds wheelchairs stretchers hypo hyperthermia unit mechanical lifts bed scales Presents pleasant courteous effective telephone conversations interactions others Orders stock maintains enters charged items shift procedure Orients new personnel desk orientation Assists admitting physical examination transferring discharging patients Transports patients lab work specimens blood Adheres Universal precaution infection control OSHA regulatory policies procedures Maintains compliance company policies standards conduct Complies HIPAA privacy security requirements maintain confidentiality times Performed duties assigned
