    SUMMARY

    The Remote WebSphere Middleware Administrator will support our government client in Parkersburg, WV. The Middleware Administrator will manage a Federal Agency WebSphere Application Server (WAS), IBM HTTP Server (IHS), Message Queuing (MQ), IBI WebFocus, DB2 database, Oracle database, Apache/Tomcat, IBM Spectrum Protect, Veritas NetBackup, Data Transport/Managed File Transfer, and IBM Connect:Direct middleware applications.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Deploying and maintaining middleware applications using web technologies including, but not limited to, WebSphere.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to middleware software.
    • Administration and maintenance of web servers and application servers.
    • Working with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
    • Managing container networking and storage.
    • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and PowerShell.
    • Perform infrastructure automation (ideally with tools such as Ansible, Chef, and Puppet)
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 5+ years of experience as an IBM WebSphere Administrator.
    • Strong knowledge of middleware platforms such as WebSphere, JBoss, Apache, etc.
    • Experience in installation, configuration, and maintenance of middleware software.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to middleware software.
    • Knowledge of networking protocols, such as TCP/IP and HTTP.
    • A strong understanding of TLS/SSL certificates and their management.
    • Strong understanding of web servers and application servers.
    • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
    • Knowledge of container orchestration and management tools.
    • Familiarity with container networking and storage.
    • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
    • Strong understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems.
    • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and PowerShell.
    • Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, and Puppet.
