Software Support EngineerAs part of the technical support staff, the software support engineer will work with our SigmaNEST software to identify issues, help customers with and around those issues, and develop and implement solutions as needed.
Responsibilities:
Technical Support
Provide first-level support for customer concerns and issues regarding software installation and operation.
Effectively meet CAD/CAM technical support needs and communicate solutions to end-users via telephone, e-mail, and the internetCustomer notification and workflow coordination and follow-up to maintain service level agreementsApplications Engineering
Travel to customer manufacturing facilities to install our CAD/CAM software and run test programs on their machines to prove the software capabilitiesProvide engineering support of our incoming tickets, including extensive troubleshootingWork on maintenance driven coding projects, primarily in G-codeRead and understand complex application code and make code fixes to resolve support issuesTraining, Demonstrations & Documentation
Provide training courses for our customers: onsite, at our in-house training facility, and over the internetProvide technical sales support demonstration and competitive analysis (benchmarking).
Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbalAbility to work independently and meet multiple deadlinesAbility to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issuesProficiency in Microsoft Office and WindowsSQL database experience is a plusAbility to travel up to 25% of the timeIn addition, there are three different types of backgrounds that can set up an applicant for success in this role.

Type 1:
Technical Support Background
2+ years of IT helpdesk/technical support experience, preferably in software or hardware supportPursuing further education in Engineering, IT, or other technical fieldType 2: Recent Graduate
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, or other technical fieldA passion for the manufacturing industry and helping people solve problemsType 3: Industry Expert
Mechanical and/or manufacturing engineering experience, especially as a machine operator or programmer familiar with G-codeA passion for continuing education and a proven curiosity about how things work, especially around CAD/CAM and CNC programming.
