HCA Solutions is seeking a Certified Phlebotomy Technician to join our team at FCC Yazoo in Yazoo City, MS

This will be a W-2, full-time position for long-term placement.

Certified Phlebotomy Technician will work Monday through Friday (Excluding Federal Holidays), eight (8) sessions per day 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with a thirty (30) minute unpaid lunch period.

Phlebotomist will provide Phlebotomy Services in a method commensurate with the local community. These services, although not directly supervised, will be reviewed by a physician on staff at the institution. The performance of these services will also be verified by the designated (COR).

The Phlebotomist will be responsible for the following:
Assist the Physician, Physician Assistant, and/or Nurse with patient flow in a clinic setting by measuring the patient's
vital signs and weight and scanning laboratory results in the Bureau Electronic Medical Record (BEMR).

Organize, schedule, and perform laboratory studies, specimen collection and process within the Health Service Unit, to include A&O in-processing, DNA per procedure, vaccine programs and PPD updates.

Prepare and ensure specimens are packed and transported according to the BPA or BOP Reference Lab and document per Health Services Unit Laboratory Procedures.

Ensure that lab requests are completed properly, and all reports are returned from the BPA lab, provider notified, log results in as received, follow up appropriately, and file results in lab and medical record.

Acquire and maintain knowledge of the Health Services Manual and Unit Procedures necessary to accomplish the mission described herein, ensuring that the Laboratory Procedure Manual is updated accordingly.

Assist the Health Service Administrator (HSA) or his/her designee in the coordination of BOP and Contract Reference Lab contact, CLIA re-certification, maintenance of equipment and notification of needed supplies.

Assist the HSA and Clinical Director with writing and implementing policies that deal with the laboratory program.

Education and Experience:

Shall have valid certification to practice in the state of Mississippi as a Medical Assistant, Laboratory Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician or Phlebotomist.

Must have graduated from an accredited school or program for phlebotomy.
Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Proof of experience with specimen collection, packaging and shipment to referral laboratories with knowledge of maintaining appropriate records.
A minimum of one year of experience as a phlebotomist.
