    Classification Title Temporary Service/Maintenance FLSA Non-Exempt UGA Job Code FTE 1.00 Minimum Qualifications Position Summary

    This is a full-time, temporary summer position with University Housing.

    The primary function of this position is to perform a variety of cleaning and related duties in and around the residence hall.

    This person works in a community housing approximately 1,000 residents.

    Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies


    • Work independently, as well as with others.
    • Effectively organize time in order to fulfill all work requirements.
    • Desire to create a clean and organized environment.
    • Sufficient English proficiency needed to effectively communicate with staff and residents.
    • Use computers to access UGA employee websites and UGA email, as necessary.
    • Develop and maintain good relationships with personnel, residents, and various customer groups.
    Physical Demands


    • Climb stairs and ladders (may occasionally work from a ladder).
    • Bend at the waist and knees.
    • Work with arms and hands outreached and overhead.
    • Stand, kneel or squat for long periods of time.
    • Perform work related duties indoors with steam and humidity, hot/cold in building during various seasons and outdoors in different weather conditions.
    • Lift and move items at least 50 pounds in weight, both assisted and unassisted.
