Group Summary
The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

About the Role
This position reports directly to the department manager and is responsible for the general and specific job duties as described below: #LI-Onsite
Your Responsibilities

• Ensure that you follow company policies and business objectives in the daily supervision of the operations of the company.

• To support all customer quality standards as well as the standards of Decostar.
• To perform daily cross-functional job assignments as required and per the department's established procedures and work instructions.
• Ensure a spirit of respect, cooperation, ethical conduct and fair dealing in all our operations between our internal, external customers and suppliers.
Who we are looking for
• Assist in the development of body base coats and applicator trials for Decostar's process.
• Support process and maintenance activities consistent with departmental expectations and goals.
• Operate assembly process and application equipment in accordance
with established control plans in order to satisfy the customer quality standards and delivery schedule.
• Assist production team leaders in administration and regulation of the control plan.
• Identify, communicate and document any difficulties relating to the product, process and/or quality system as per Decostar ISO-TS 16949 directives.
• Initiate, recommend or provide solutions utilizing error proofing techniques to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to the product, process and/or quality system through designated channels.
• Verify implementation and effectiveness of recommended solutions. Update control plan as per ISO-TS 16949 protocol.
• Develop, implement, verify and document parameter settings for all assembly process and application equipment to maintain the specified quality standards detailed in the control plans for all products.
• Verify and calibrate assembly process and application equipment as directed in the total productive maintenance plan to ensure the accuracy and repeatability of the assembly process.
• Track, record and prepare management reports detailing process capability and trend analyses of key parameters as directed by the department manager.
• Participate in the development of robotic path motions and operating parameters for the introduction of new products and the continuous improvement of existing programs to optimize transfer efficiency within the guidelines of the control plans and customer quality standards.
• Coordinate with the department manager and other assembly line personnel in the completion of process related projects and improvements as directed by the department manager.
• Communicate and cooperate with assembly suppliers on usage optimization, formulation compatibility, assembly performance and quality issues.
• Work with equipment suppliers to accurately collect application and performance data on new technology tested in the assembly process.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement teams as assigned by the department manager.
• Train personnel as directed by the department manager in the operation of process equipment and procedures in accordance to the established control plan.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of PFMEA's, control plans and ISO- TS16949 documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Your preferred qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required. Twelve years work related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. Work experience combined with current schooling towards degree will be considered.
• Must be computer literate on the Windows platform.
• Previous automotive and robotic experience required.
• Experience with industrial control, computer technology and programming is an asset.
• Experience in computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Project (or similar)
• Fluent in English (reading and writing).
• Technical ability in areas such as robot programming, maintenance activities, PLC programming, etc.
