Huttig Building Products is seeking an experienced candidate to join our warehouse team. Huttig has been one of nation's largest wholesale distributors of specialty building products and millwork for over 133 years. With a vast selection of some of the industry's top building products and millwork- including doors, windows, columns, decking, and more- we provide our dealers with top-of-the-line products from the best supplier brands in the country. Warehouse Workers/backup Commercial Truck Drivers are responsible for receiving and coordinating the distribution of materials, tools, equipment, and products. They primarily unload and load shipments, and maintain inventory. They will serve as a back up truck driver who is responsible for delivering products to customers. They operate a tractor and trailer between 24 to 53 feet in length, to transport materials to and from specified destinations.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
Read customer shipping order to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
Receive shipments by processing paperwork, checking contents, and moving materials from receiving areas to designated areas.
Sort and place items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
Compile worksheets or tickets for customer specifications.
Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed; maintain inventory records.
Weigh or count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
Perform daily cycle counts; locate and identify inventory adjustments and errors.
Attend safety training and meetings; comply with OSHA, DOT, and company safety policy.
Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment used.
Complete pre-trip, intermittent, and post-trip inspection.
Compare the product on the truck with the paperwork.
Deliver and off-loads material in accordance with route, paperwork, and desires of the customer.
Collect payment for goods delivered and for delivery charges.
Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations.
Maintain telephone, radio, or electronic contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
Clean inside of truck and trailer.
Contact manager and vendor to perform emergency roadside repairs.
Communicate status of orders; return all completed paperwork to appropriate destination.
Additional duties may be assigned.
**Education and Experience**
High School diploma or equivalent
2 years' of related experience operating a vehicle that requires a Class A commercial driver's license
**Certificates, Licenses or Other Requirements**
Valid Class A commercial driver's license in the state of residence
Minimum of 23 years of age
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
Operate a tractor trailer between 24-53 feet long
Exceptional finger and manual dexterity
Ability to frequently lift and/or push up to pounds
Ability to bend, crouch, stand, and sit for long durations
**Work Environment**
Work near moving mechanical parts and exposed to fumes or airborne particles
Use safety equipment such as protective eyewear, earplugs, gloves, safety shoes etc.
