Description

Northern Gear & Machining is seeking a Material Handler / Saw Operator to collaborate with a team dedicated to the success of our customers.

The scope of this first shift position is to move various materials within the warehouse. As well as setting up and operating power saws to slot, cut and trim metallic materials.

Summary Meets deadlines and production expectations with little to no supervision, unloads and loads products to/from trucks, records inventory statuses and makes sure deliveries properly match paperwork.

This requires the operation of a forklift.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork and support all material handling responsibilities for entire plantUse powered industrial lift truck to move materials throughout plantVerifying the accuracy of quantity and quality of inbound raw materials and suppliesLabel every product and placing them accordinglyKeep all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular maintenanceFollow quality and housekeeping expectationsEmpty chip hoppersMove materials and items from receiving or production areas Drive floor scrubberAssist in maintenanceThis is not intended to be all inclusive of the position.

The Supervisor will be committed to the production of a quality product, on time, while providing the best resources to employees for success.

Requirements:
Previous material handling & forklift experience preferred.
Able to stand and walk during work shifts.

Able to use hands for simple/firm grasping and able to perform continuous repetitive hand motionFrequently bend and stoop and reach below waist and above shoulder levelFrequently lift and carry productWork hours and overtime as required.

Overtime may include Saturday hoursOccasional kneeling/pushing/pullingDetail orientatedSkills and ExperiencesHigh School diploma or equivalentMaterial Handling experience preferred.
Computer proficient.
Ability to Multi-task in a fast-paced environment to assure quality and delivery requirements are met. Understand urgency to meet customer demands.
