    Purpose of Position: Responsible for the organization's material needs. Communicates daily duties to purchasing personnel, purchases and schedules delivery of materials, and coordinates movements within the ERP system throughout logistics and into production.

    Essential Functions: (must be able to perform these functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation)

    • Leads a team responsible for the entire procurement process, giving verbal and written feedback to purchasing staff as necessary.
    • May assist in hiring, training, and overseeing subordinate staff's scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow.
    • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize cost savings, quality, and delivery of supplies and equipment.
    • Ensures compliance with applicable regulations, and is responsible for tracking supplier performance.
    • Manages the process of purchasing company materials.
    • Tracks and analyzes data to identify trends and recommends purchasing strategies.
    • Enhances, grows, and establishes new vendor relationships.
    • Manages and analyzes Supplier OTD.
    • Monitors supplier performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
    • Prepares & participates in company audits to ensure compliance with all applicable procedures and regulations.
    • Assists with employee performance evaluations.
    • Review requisitions for goods and services.
    • Researches potential vendors and products to identify cost-effective solutions.
    • Troubleshoots any issues that arise with vendors.
    • Quotes material for in-house projects and sales solicitations.
    • Place orders for consumable materials, services, and inventory parts as required.
    • Responsible for completing tasks and projects within the scheduled timeframe and meeting department deadlines.
    • Works closely with Sales, Production, Logistics, and Finance teams on projects.
    • Travels as required.
    • May attend trade shows, product exhibitions, and conferences to maintain an understanding of new products and trends.
    • Confers with the manager to recommend changes such as equipment utilization, production methods, and procedures to increase efficiency and promote improvement.
    • Attends all safety and health training, as required.
    • Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy.
    • Works overtime as needed.
    • Observes and practices all safety procedures and personal policies (e.g. safety glasses, ear plugs, face shields, etc.)
    • Performs other duties as required.

    Experience and Education Requirements:

    Must be at least 18 years old or older. High School Diploma or GED required. A bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus. At least five years' experience in procurement or Supply Chain Management is required. Knowledge of purchasing regulations and compliance requirements is required. Supervisory experience and working in a manufacturing environment is a plus. Must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.

    Work Conditions:

    Generally works in an office environment. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, vibrations, and loud noise.
