    Default job background
    Construction / Facilities
    Description

Critical Coordination is a white collar construction company with a focus on Data Centers across the nation. The majority of our work is effectively managing new cabinet deployments for incoming IT equipment within existing facilities. This can consist of coordinating and installing infrastructure such as: cabinets, caging, containment, fiber, copper connectivity, power, etc. —- we help build 'the cloud' and are presently experiencing quite the boom with the AI gold rush.

Critical Coordination is a 5 year old company with annual revenue of $5m and headcount of 5 amazing employees with a goal to get to $10m in the next 2 years , YTD 2024 we are over $3m). We leverage subcontractors a great deal, but also travel to sites to oversee, manage, perform quality control, and get our hands dirty. When people ask what we do, I tell them we are a logistics and customer service business.

    Salary Range: $110-145k

The current CEO (me) is currently being stretched thin between developing new opportunities and simultaneously leading the business operations, strategy and vision. To be successful in this role, you'll need to be a dedicated individual excited to be a big part of a small business, and eager to wear multiple hats with a proven track record in a similar capacity of effectively executing and implementing the company's vision.

It is incredibly important that the right person for this position has the knowledge base to provide strategy, implementation and execution. I am bringing this person on to answer questions on my behalf, not pepper me with questions on how to run the business. Frankly, I need this person to be better than me in multiple areas. We run fast and this person needs to have the desire and know-how to keep up.

We are an 'all hands on deck' type of company with a GET SHT DONE mentality where you will find the CEO assisting to turn wrenches and pull cables when needed. Is it the preferred use of my time? Not the labor portion, but being in the field to continue my eduction of installs, be with the crew and better understand their challenges, and showing the client's that I care about the deadlines to the point of getting out there is golden. This position will focus on improving processes, strategy for tackling the larger opportunities we are getting involved with, managing and developing relationships with labor and material vendors.

Culture fit is an important aspect. To give an example of our environment: office hours are 8:30-4:30 to allow for some Flex Time. We work consolidated office hours, with the expectation of working hard and getting things done. We love to play ping pong on our conference room table as a reprieve from stressful situations. We have electric scooters in the office to take strolls down the pier to look at the river on sunny days. When we have good weeks you might find us across the street where I'm buying the team lunch and beers on Friday. We might celebrate successes next door at the cigar shop. We sponsor 1 hour a month with a local therapist for each employee to focus on being happy and productive providers to our clients. There are a lot of perks, but make no mistake about hard work being a requirement and the foundation to our success.

**THE ASTERISK AND CAPS-LOCK IS INTENDED TO GET YOUR ATTENTION. I AM MAKING THIS ALMOST FOOLPROOF FOR PROFESSIONAL ADULTS THAT WOULD LIKE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR A MANAGEMENT POSITION. Shocker, I'd like someone in this role that not only pays attention to detail, but that is also thorough and follows through with what they are being asked. For consideration of this position please include a cover letter with your application. Show me you care more than the unqualified typical job-spammer that sees an attractive salary and hits 'apply' without reading the full posting to understand what you are applying for.

Ideally you will tell me a story about how you helped a small company achieve big things What did you personally do to scale the business and see success? Tell me how you kicked a$$ at improving skyrocketing Net Income while being the CEO's right-hand person. Please don't be preposterous and vague to the point of leaving it at 'I grew the company 300% in my first year' does that mean? it's exhausting to read and if you can't articulate what lead to that, or understand how that growth actually impacted Net Income, chances are you didn't have much to do with that growth and just happened to be there as you witnessed sales dollars increasing. How did you put systems in place, help the company sell the vision, find labor to get the projects done, place key people in the appropriate territories, evaluate ROI on key hires or equipment purchases, etc.

If you are motivated and results-driven, and enjoy working hard for the reward of playing hard, we'd like to meet you.

The next step in this process is if you are shortlisted you will receive a video from me explaining the culture candidly and a one-way video request to leave a quick 5 minute video further elaborate on your experience. This isn't any different than dating, just higher stakes.
