    Posting Name: Pipe Welder 1
    Schedule: 4x10's M - T, 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
    This position is located at our Bayou La Batre, AL facility.
    Join the Birdon team and help ensure USCG boats are safe and reliable
    Our Pipe Welders are an integral piece of our work on a daily basis. Some of your daily functions will include:

    • Must be able to weld copper-nickel alloys.
    • Must be able to pass a 6G SMAW welding test with 90 days of employment.
    • Must be able to TIG weld in all positions.
    • Must be able to work in tight areas and perform field welding as required.
    • Demonstrate the ability to notice improper fit up of pipe joints prior to welding.
    • Demonstrate the ability to mirror weld.
    • Recognize different pipe alloys and rods required.
    • Know and understand proper root openings required on butt weld systems and set back requirements for socket weld systems.
    • Understand and utilize purging requirements.
    • Understand weld sizes and types (Convex & Concave)
    If you have at least 3 years' experience as a Pipe Welder, possess a High School Diploma or GED and fundamental knowledge in marine or manufacturing industry, we want to talk to you
