Job Description

Job Title: Varsity Athletic Coach

About the Position: Schaumburg Christian School (SCS) is looking for a passionate and innovative leader to enhance and expand the athletic programs. As a Varsity Athletic Coach, you will play a key role in fostering a school community that guides students to become lifelong servants and leaders through Christ. Your responsibilities will include overseeing, developing, and coordinating the athletic program for the team.

Athletic Mission: To promote Christ's teachings through sports, encourage growth, and enhance the Conqueror Program with purpose and positivity.

Roles & Responsibilities

Collaborate with school administration to implement athletic policies
Enforce Student and Athletic Handbooks policies
Establish a competitive and impactful athletic environment
Conduct spiritual devotionals and prayers during practices
Focus on character development through meaningful relationships
Regular communication with families and athletes
In-Season tasks include organizing workouts, maintaining practice schedules, and attending all games and practices
Off-Season Training initiatives for individual and team growth
Offer opportunities for athletes to participate in summer league games and camps
Facilitate year-round growth through school leagues
Drive team building activities and community service projects
Lead JV team and oversee all levels from HS to elementary school teams
Attend Middle School and Elementary games and practices when possible

Requirements

Qualifications: Ability to teach in the classroom (preferred), Prior coaching experience (preferred), Prior athletic experience
Spiritual Qualifications: Must be a confessing and practicing Christian in a church of like-faith, Exemplify Christian values, Uphold SCS's spiritual and academic mission, Willingness to speak during chapels
Skills & Attributes: Strong verbal and written communication skills, Visionary leader with a strong work ethic, Link SCS athletic programs to the community, Event scheduling abilities, Marketing campaign skills, Adaptability to schedule changes, Sound judgment and record-keeping skills, Capacity to lead and collaborate effectively
