    Description

    Job PurposeUnder the direction of the Executive Director, the Principal will act as a strategic and dynamic leader to guide a high-performing school to ensure strong academic gains and the character development of every scholar.

    S/he will serve as chief administrator of the school to develop and implement policies, programs, curriculum activities, and budgets in a manner that promotes the educational development of each scholar and the development of each staff member.

    The Principal will work closely with senior leadership within the region, parents of scholars, and community partners to build meaningful relationships that will enhance the schools success.

    Essential Responsibilities and CompetenciesSchool AdministrationEnsures a world-class educational model is developed and delivered for every scholar (curriculum and instructional strategies, school culture, scholar performance, character development)Conceptualizes the goals of the school and plans accordingly to ensure that procedures and schedules are implementedIdentifies and hires new staff including all teachers, operations, teaching assistants, and other support staffTakes charge of scholar recruitment and ensures school is enrolled at capacity for academic yearEnsures consistent school schedules, including school calendars, regional training, and school complianceManages the budget and contributes to the creation of a multi-year budget modelIdentifies and implements the annual objectives for the instructional, extracurricular, and athletic programs of the schoolActs as a catalyst for efficient, accurate, and transparent business models (accounting, financing, purchasing, facilities management, technology, reporting, compliance, scholar recruitment, safety, food and transportation services)Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or requiredInspire, motivate, and encourage key stakeholdersLeads the effort to build strong relationships, communicate, and collaborate with key stakeholders including scholars, staff, parents, and community membersEnsure that staff members are engaged in purposeful professional growth developing teacher, school, and network leadersEvaluate all staff members according to written performance indicators aligned with their job descriptionsContinuously utilize data-driven instruction and student data resources to strategically drive achievement results throughout the yearLeverage strengths of team members within the school in order to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goalsManage time, people and resources efficiently and effectivelyBuild a positive and supportive work environment for all team membersCreate a culture within the school that reflects the core values of the organization by exemplifying and expecting them from self and othersLive and act as a biblical role model and Open Sky Education representative in your life for our scholars, team members and communityAgree to comply at all times with our Code of Conduct and Statement of FaithAgree to engage in the faith life of our scholars and in collaboration with other team membersQualificationsSuccessful educational leadership experience with the demonstrated ability to lead and grow a high performing teamBusiness expertise related to compliance reporting, educational legal obligations, and general business operationsTrack record of success and proven results of driving student achievementExperience working with students and families in low-income communitiesMasters degree in Education or related fieldExceptional MS Excel Skills and strong skills in MS Word, PowerPoint, and OutlookPersonal QualitiesIntegrity, credibility, and passionate commitment to HOPEs mission of Christ, College, and CharacterProactive and hands-on strategic thinker who enjoys tackling challenges and overcoming obstaclesKeen quantitative analytic, organization and problem-solving skillsAbility to simultaneously lead multiple complicated and intense projectsStrong relationship building, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsCommitment to loving our scholars, an unwavering belief that all children can and must succeed, and a deep passion for developing the character of a serving leader in every childDriven by a passion for ensuring every scholar has an excellent educationServing Leader able to continually raise the bar, inspire, equip, and support a diverse team to achieve beyond their own expectationsAn individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above.
