    Job Description

    Palo Alto Networks is looking for an experienced tax professional to join the team as a Tax Senior Manager. The ideal candidate will have in-depth tax technical knowledge, deep tax accounting background, as well as practical experience evaluating and advising on tax aspects of business initiatives and transactions.

    This role will report to the Sr. Director of Tax Reporting and Compliance and is responsible for managing the Company's tax operations including but not limited to the global tax provision, forecasting, strategic planning, tax reporting, and compliance. The Tax Senior Manager will interface with upper management and various cross functional teams and will coordinate with the Company's outside tax firms on various projects.

    Your Impact

    • Manage tax provision process and liaise with outsourced tax consultants and financial statement auditors on tax matters to ensure accurate and timely US GAAP tax provision calculations and disclosures
    • Lead and review, with external partners, all federal tax returns; and support audits and inquiries by governmental authorities
    • Drive process improvements and coordinate technology applications to facilitate streamlining and automation of the tax provision and tax compliance processes
    • Perform research and analysis on significant tax accounting and tax positions and transactions, and manage integration of such positions into the compliance/reporting process
    • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with key SOX controls related to financial statement review procedures
    • Identify and mitigate company risks and communicate areas of potential exposure
    • Train and mentor team members

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Direct supervisor of tax reporting and compliance team

    Qualifications

    Your Experience

    • Strong working knowledge of ASC740
    • 10+ years of experience with a combinationpublic accounting andcorporate tax setting
    • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
    • Flexible mindset and willingness to embrace change in a fast-moving environment
    • The ability to operate independently, represent the Tax function in cross-functional settings, make decisions and advise the business
    • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
    • Experience with multinational SAAS companies a plus
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Proven ability to effectively work with all levels of staff, cross functional teams, upper management, and outside consultants
    • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
    • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word & Power Point
    • Proficient with OneSource and SAP a plus
    • Active CPA license preferred

    The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be between $146,200/yr to $236,500/yr.
