    Position Summary

    The Rehab Program Coordinator will function as the Recruitment Coordinator. This position is responsible for developing and attending job fairs to present employment opportunities to potential applicants. Assisting with the recruitment process for ARCareers, which includes creating, posting and closing requisitions.

    Education and Professional Work Experience

    Minimum Qualifications

    The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in general business, public administration, or a related field; plus, four years of experience in planning and evaluating programs.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


    • Knowledge of business and financial management principles and practices.
    • Knowledge of inventory and record control.
    • Knowledge of state and federal laws governing services for the blind.
    • Knowledge of state budgetary and accounting practices and procedures.
    • Ability to plan, organize, and oversee the work of others.
    • Ability to develop and monitor the effectiveness of programs and services for the blind.
    • Ability to provide assistance in setting up and managing a business.
    • Ability to prepare, present, and review oral and written information.
    Job Responsibilities and Expected Results


    • Provide information and assistance to office staff, visitors, and callers.
    • Compose and type routine correspondence and form letter, maintains activity logs and/or submits reports to supervisor.
    • Provide information, assistance, and clarification to interested parties concerning agency/institution policies and procedures.
    • Consult with and guide hiring managers in recruitment and staffing issues, policies, and processes.
    • Developing and attending job fairs to present employment opportunities to potential applicants through ARCareers.
    • In-State travel required.
    • Prepare, develop, oversee and maintain all functional job descriptions related to each individual position and position number.
    • Conduct pre-employment background checks including but not limited to reference checks, criminal history background checks, and drug testing.
    • Run Motor Vehicle Checks, add and maintain driver license information in the Arkansas Safety Vehicle Program.
    • Create requisitions and post job vacancy on ARCareers; create and send out vacancy announcements.
    • Analyzes and evaluates employment applications received from internal and external applicants to determine if applicants meet minimum qualifications.
    • Benchmark applicants and guide hiring officials in recruitment and staffing issues, policies and procedures.
    • Assist Hiring Managers with ARCareers.
    • Review reconsideration request.
    • Close out requisitions in ARCareers.
    • Prepare and submit various recruitment, on-boarding, retention, and exit bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual personnel reports.
    • Review candidate's reconsideration for minimum qualifications.
    • Assist HR Manager's with Special Projects and Reports.
    • Maintain spreadsheet with status of vacant positions on ARCareers.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Summary

    The Rehabilitation Program Coordinator is responsible for directing the overall operations of a specific rehabilitation program. This position is governed state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

    Functions


    Provides administrative direction to subordinate staff by developing and establishing short and long term program goals and objectives, administering and evaluating project assignments, and providing interpretation of policies and laws in the absence of precedents to resolve issues and achieve implementation of project goals and objectives.

    Interviews, hires, assigns, and reviews work and evaluates performance of incumbents.

    Assists program participants with both short and long-range planning in the areas of: management, personnel, marketing, merchandising, profitability, and/or public relations.

    Develops and updates training and program manuals and recommends policies and procedures in response to updated and revised federal and state regulations.

    Provides technical assistance to program participants by explaining program goals and participant eligibility criteria.

    Conducts conferences and plans training programs to maintain proficiency of staff in therapy techniques and use of new methods and equipment to meet clients' needs.

    Allocates and manages a budget from multiple fund sources in compliance with state and federal programs and administrative regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.
