    :Our Long-Term Care seeks a Part-Time Pastoral / Spiritual Care Assistant to assist with provision of pastoral/spiritual care to patients/residents, their loved ones, and healthcare staff.Every Weekend- 16 Hours


    Responsibilities:

    • Provide pastoral care and support to residents, families and staff. Provide this service within the framework of NDLTCC's mission and philosophy, fulfilling the requirements of the Joint Commission and other federal and state regulations.
    • Understand the mission and philosophy of NDHC and provide a climate where hospitality, compassion and mutual support are expressed to those who serve and those being served.* Must be or eligible to be an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion.
    • Provide pastoral / spiritual care and support to residents, families and staff.
    • Provide this service within the framework of NDHC's Long-Term Care's mission and philosophy, fulfilling the requirements of the Joint Commission and other federal and state regulations.
    • Follow and maintain HIPAA guidelines and regulations with respect to all patient information. Protect the security of medical records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained.
    • Visits hospice patients and their families identified as appropriate for spiritual care, completes spirituals assessment, and provides direct nondenominational spiritual counsel, prayer and support.
    • Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner in the community.

    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in theology, psychology, or sociology required.
    • Must be or eligible to be an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion.
    • Knowledge of specialized fields of theology, liturgy, psychology, sociology, ecumenical orientation and Catholic ethical guidelines required.
    • Must be or eligible to be an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion.
    • Experience working with infirm elderly is needed as well as excellent communication skills; patience, tact, positive attitude, integrity and cheerful enthusiasm also preferred.
    • Position schedule may require working some holidays.
    • Position considered essential employee under NDHC's Inclement Weather Policy
    • Schedule is every weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
