    Job Description

    Job Summary:

    The Volunteer and Program Coordinator will manage all aspects of volunteer coordination and training at Chrysalis' office in downtown Los Angeles. Responsibilities include recruiting, training, and coordinating downtown volunteers, as well as providing support in case of volunteer absences. Additionally, the Coordinator will assist Chrysalis clients in resume building, job interview preparation, and job readiness classes.

    Duties and Responsibilities include:

    Volunteer Recruitment, Coordination, Training, and Engagement

    • Maintain regular communication with DT volunteers to provide support, address inquiries, and meet their needs.
    • Screen, onboard, and train new volunteers regularly while managing existing volunteers.
    • Organize volunteer appreciation events and milestone recognition.
    • Assess and improve volunteer performance through ongoing feedback and training.
    • Collaborate with the Client Services team for volunteer and client activities.
    • Facilitate cross-functional communication and support across all Chrysalis locations.
    • Contribute to special projects for process improvement and program efficiency.

    Direct Client Service Delivery

    • Offer personalized assistance with resume preparation, interview practice, and job applications.

    Customer Service and Administration

    • Ensure volunteer schedules cover all client services adequately.
    • Maintain accurate records of volunteer activities within Chrysalis systems.
    • Communicate consistently with the Development and Communications Department.
    • Monitor and restock supplies for volunteer-related client services.

    Job Skills & Qualifications

    • Proficiency in English and Spanish (preferred).
    • Passionate about Chrysalis' mission to enhance the community's social and economic well-being.
    • Desirable experience in teaching, facilitation, or training.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and intercultural skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, typing, and internet research.
    • Knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint (desirable).
    • Effective organizational and time management abilities.
    • Demonstrated success working independently.
    • Comfortable addressing diverse audiences and crowds.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours occasionally.
    • Access to reliable transportation for meetings and support at other Chrysalis offices.
