    Description
    Communicates of all issues or problems in Department to Plant Manager or his designee.
    Ensures plant operates in compliance with all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations. Participates and promotes any HSE training, drills and Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings.
    Directs Operators to assure product quality and quantity at optimum utilization of personnel and equipment.
    Provides technical assistance and instructions to correct off-standard and emergency conditions.
    Provides direction for operators in the operation and control of all equipment associated with the plant.
    Monitors and controls process. Reports deviation from standards and takes action to correct deviation.
    Encourages and implements teamwork environment.

    Utilizes continuous improvement techniques to move safety, quality, and production to levels at or above the goals the plant has set.

    Proposes methods to optimize raw material ordering process, including appropriate re-order quantities to ensure material availability with minimum inventory on site.

    Demonstrates health, safety and environmental leadership and commitment to Responsible Care.
    Works with maintenance coordinator in directing maintenance efforts.
    Proposes Capital projects and helps with the implementation, resulting in cost reduction and maintenance of business.
    Enters production data daily and evaluates data to ensure optimum process output/efficiency.
    Assists in monitoring inventory, ordering supplies and monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory.
    Assists with regulatory and external audits, as required.
    Updates standard operating procedures as required, and authors new procedures when applicable.
    Performs special projects or other duties as directed.
    Able to be trained and train other in any discipline needed to operate and/or manage the production process.
    Qualifications
    Knowledge, Skills & Experience

    Minimum:
    BS Degree in an appropriate technical discipline.

    Desired:
    BS Degree in Engineering.

    Minimum of two to five (2-5) years of experience in the chemical industry in a manufacturing environment.
    Experience in a Union environment.
    CQI techniques and methods, such as SPC and Six Sigma.
    Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety principles.
    Working knowledge of management systems, such as ISO 9001 and RC 14001
    Working knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance.
    Computer skills, such as Microsoft Office and SAP.
    Special Factors
    Customary work hours 7 am – 4 pm, 5 days per week
    Available on nights and weekends for emergency situations
