- Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygiene program
- Unrestricted license to practice Dental Hygiene in the State of Indiana
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
- Working knowledge of all aspects of the field of Dental Hygiene
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients visitors and coworkers
- Ability to manage and complete tasks with consistent detail-oriented accuracy
- Basic knowledge of office equipment: computer, single-line phone, copier, and fax; Basic knowledge of computer applications: Word
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus

Job DescriptionDescription:Job Title: Dental Hygienist
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for providing quality dental care to our patients and ensuring their oral health is maintained.
Scope of Tasks & Responsibilities:
oExemplify the RHC mission through a personal example of excellent service to patients, visitors and coworkers
oTreat patients, visitors and coworkers with respect and dignity
oMaintain confidential information
oAttend regularly scheduled staff meetings
oParticipate in appropriate health promotion activities as required
Essential Responsibilities:
oAssist in the oral health management of all dental patients
oObtain baseline oral hygiene assessment date based on accepted principles of oral hygiene and periodontal care
oProvide oral health education and appropriate individual counseling for all dental patients
oProvide clinical oral hygiene services including dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planning, sealant application and fluoride application consistent with accepted standards of practice and in compliance with applicable state laws and RHC clinical protocols
oTake and develop x-rays as prescribed by the Dentist
oAccurately and completely record every patient-hygienist interaction in the patient dental record to reflect the nature of the contact, the condition of the patient and the care or treatment provided
oAssist in the provision of oral health education in the community as requested
oAssist in the maintenance of all Dental Clinic areas in compliance with clinic policies and protocols, as well as RHC policies and procedures relative to infection control, exposure control and workplace safety
oResponsible for preparation of operatory and set-up of instruments, materials, and equipment necessary for hygiene procedures
oEscort patients to and from dental operatory
oInsure the proper disposal of all contaminated or potentially contaminated materials in accordance with Dental Clinic and RHC policies as well as state and federal regulations
oReceives and places necessary telephone calls consistent with professional matters, clinic business and patient care of the Dental Clinic
oAssist with various administrative functions of the Dental Clinic as appropriately delegated by the Dentist
oTravel when necessary to meet operational needs
oPerforms other related and/or necessary tasks as directed by supervisor to achieve organizational and programmatic goals and objectives
oResponsible for personal compliance with all applicable federal, state, local and center rules, regulations, protocols and procedures governing the practice of Dental Hygiene as well as those relating to, but not limited to, personnel issues, work place safety, public health and confidentiality
