Job summary
The Patient Care Tech reflects the mission, vision and values of Northwestern Medicine adheres to all relevant policies procedures guidelines and standards under direction of clinical RN or physician provides support patients staff including collecting lab specimens obtaining EKGs discontinuing Saline Locks Indwelling Urinary Catheters Telemetry Monitoring packs assists patients personal hygiene nutritional needs performs hourly patient rounding collaborates with clinical RN obtains documents patient care data assists health team members meeting individualized needs responds timely manner assists maintaining clinical environment supports patient family staff safety participates performance improvement activities advancing innovative processes achieving unit targets exceptional performance Additional Responsibilities Safety Attendant/Telesitter Monitor maintains visual observation no distractions provides prompt notification care team if patient requires assistance monitors maintains patient environmental safety notifies care team hazards discovered follows appropriate policy answers screens directs incoming calls facilitates obtaining hard copy patients advance directive places Electronic Medical Record manages admissions Electronic Bed Board assures patient care unit readiness EMR downtime facilitates data recovery following downtime.
