General Statement of Duties

Provides technical assistance and support with the School Quality Process. Provides direct support to schools and school leaders with all parts of the improvement process.

Essential Duties

• The physical demands of this assignment include the ability to sit and stand for extended periods and the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.

  • Understands and can apply Improvement Science
  • Provides direct support to schools for all parts of the School Quality Process
  • Understands and can explain state and federal accreditation requirements
  • Guides the work of the Division Support Plan
  • Participates in and can implement VDOE training
  • Understands and can apply quantitative and qualitative data to support improvement work
  • Understands the HCPS Teaching and Learning Framework and uses it to guide school support
  • Possess a desire for continuous personal professional learning
  • Supports and develops HCPS School Quality resources
  • Partners with other HCPS departments to support the School Quality Process
  • Delivers professional learning around the School Quality Process using Adult Learning Theory
  • Uses coaching techniques when supporting schools
  • Willing to travel to conferences (in-state and out-of-state)

Minimum Qualifications

Must have knowledge of and direct experience in school improvement. Must be able to deliver professional learning to adults and support the implementation of that professional learning at the school level.

Must hold a valid Virginia teaching license and have a minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience. Coaching experience preferred.

This posting is for the SY.

This position is a 239-day (11-month) contract

• Minimum annual starting salary: $62,440 Bachelors, $65,437 Masters *.

(*The compensation listed above is based on the current SY compensation rates and may be subject to any increases provided in the HCPS school board budget to be released in May.)
