    HCA Solutions is seeking a qualified Dental Hygienist to join our team at Federal Prison Camp (FPC) Bryan in Bryan, TX

    This will be a full-time, W-2 position for long-term placement.


    These services will be required for five (5) days per week, normally consisting of eight (8), one (1) hour sessions per day, Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), normally between the hours of 7:30 am and 4:00 pm, with a thirty (30) minute unpaid lunch period.


    All duties shall be performed in accordance with standards and methods generally accepted within the field of Dental Hygienist Services, and compliance with all Federal and State policy and regulations.

    These services, although not directly supervised, will be reviewed by a physician at FPC Bryan, TX. The performance of these services will also be verified by the designated COR.

    The Contractor shall be responsible for, but are not limited to:


    Provide dental prophylaxis, other preventative oral health services, and other periodontal services for Adults in Custody (AIC) who are referred to by the Dental Staff.

    Provide thorough individualized oral hygiene instructions for each patient.
    Monitor oral hygiene and periodontal condition on each patient seen for dental prophylaxis.
    Sterilize instruments used for prophylaxis and other instruments as specified by the Dental Staff.
    Provide oral health care services such as suture removal, administration of local anesthetic, and other services (if trained).
    Oversee AIC Health Service's Workers' housekeeping and infection control procedures.

    Perform necessary paperwork related to scheduling patients for dental prophylaxis and other Dental Services as directed by the Dental Staff.

    Must have knowledge and experience in maintaining medical records and confidentiality.
    Ability to collect and track data and enter data in the agency's electronic system. Track scheduling of patient care.

    Knowledgeable of and follows BOP, Dental Service, and institutional policies to include Employee Standards of Conduct, security, infection control, regulated waste management, and data management.

    The physical demands of this position are largely sedentary in nature, however, long periods of standing, walking, sitting, and bending are required.

    Frequent mental and physical strain is inherent to duty and responsibility. Occasionally, the incumbent will be required to lift boxes and equipment. As a rule, this lift will not exceed 35 pounds.

    Professional contacts are with inmate patients requiring dental care, contract workers, and other professional and nonprofessional civilians, Public Health Service, and Bureau employees.

    Incumbents have direct and frequent contact with AIC and through these contacts may impact on their attitudes and behaviors. Professional conduct is always expected under the BOP guidelines.

    Perform minor clerical duties, such as use of BOP electronic medical record, computer documentation and scheduling, scanning documents, filing, typing, callouts, institutional memorandums, answering phones, scheduling patients and maintaining stock records.

    Education and Experience

    The individual providing Dental Hygienist Services must require a certified/license under the State of Texas.
    Photocopies of all Dental Certifications, Dental Radiology Certification is required.
    A current CPR Certification.
    Experience in a correctional environment is preferred but not required.

    The applicant must possess knowledge of methods, techniques, and procedures to perform job activities on various types of medical equipment and automated systems and safety principles and infection control in the patient care environment.
