    About the Role

    The regular work schedule is Monday - Friday evenings typically 600pm to 230am. Some flexibility is required.

    As a core member of our manufacturing and production team, you will be a key leader for our sanitation team and will be expected to

    • Support the ongoing development and implementation of equipment and facility cleaning processes and procedures
    • Achieve the daily sanitation schedule to ensure safe food manufacturing and on time production schedules
    • Audit and support training in sanitation and quality practices to ensure high standards are maintained
    • Support the production of a safe, high quality product, conforming to standards, and team member safety

    Essential Duties

    • Provide leadership and direction to sanitation and operations team members; ensure adherence to policy and procedures for cleaning of equipment and safe working practices
    • Active participation in sanitation/change over continuous improvement efforts to reduce planned downtime related to cleaning, changeover, and set up of lines. Assist in identifying methods, processes and tools to reduce these events
    • Coach and motivate team members to exceed expectations by communicating job performance standards and providing timely and consistent feedback
    • Manage weekly team member schedules and submit accurate timekeeping records for payroll on a weekly basis
    • Provide supervisory support to the QA Lab team on 2nd and 3rd shift
    • Possess excellent knowledge of Production machines, the manufacturing process, and equipment/parts design to ensure proper sanitation and efficient start up.
    • Interface daily with Operations in support of company and department objectives
    • Lead visual inspection/post clean inspections of equipment. Audit daily performance
    • Lead compliance to the Master Sanitation Schedule
    • Accountable for inventory control of cleaning supplies and sanitation chemicals
    • Maintain relationship for Chemical supplier and utilize their resources to improve the Processes
    • Support SSOP development and auditing
    • Monitor the Pathogenic Environmental Monitoring Program utilizing a Seek and Destroy approach
    • Strong knowledge of all cleaning equipment operations to include but not limited to CIP, COP, dry room cleaning, manual cleaning, and environmental cleaning
    • Understanding of microbial and allergen concerns in wet and dry processing environments

    What we're looking for

    • Minimum 2 yrs. experience in manufacturing/sanitation with leadership responsibility. Dairy operations is preferred
    • Bachelor's degree in Dairy or Food Science, Engineering, Business or related field (i.e. Dairy Science, Biological Sciences)
    • Must be able to work "hands on" with the Sanitation Team spending a significant amount of time on the manufacturing floor
    • Strong knowledge of CIP and COP cleaning and sanitation procedures preferred
    • SQF or BRC experience preferred
    • Maintain or obtain certifications for HACCP
    • Strong food manufacturing knowledge is preferred
    • Ability to tear down and clean a variety of production equipment
    • Able to lift 50lbs. on a regular basis
    • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, or equivalent software
    • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to develop efficient processes and methods to improve department efficiencies
    • Ability to lead and influence cross functional leaders with or without direct reporting relationships
    • Ability to work primarily 800pm to 430am Monday through Friday with flexibility to support all shifts, including weekends, as needed
    • Willingness to learn and participate in all facets of food processing and storage associated with frozen dessert manufacturing
    • Willingness to participate in travel, including overnight travel
    • Must follow the company guidelines and vision to enhance and create a positive Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment
    • Able to taste dairy products and other allergenic ingredients preferred
