Job summary
The Ultrasound Technologist independently performs diagnostic ultrasound exams (including but not limited to: adult and pediatric abdominal,pelvic, small parts, peripheral vascular,endovaginal exams). The Technologist also assists the attending radiologist with interventional procedures such as abdominal biopsies,fluid aspirationsand drain placements.
Demonstrates knowledge of human anatomyas required in proper positioningof patients.
Demonstrates ability to critique imagesfor qualitycontroland sets appropriateparameters for acceptableimagequality.Ensures correctdocumentation.Imprints correctpatient IDon images,
enters correctpatient chargesby endof shift.Works closelywith Radiologistsduring specialproceduresand biopsies.Summarizes examfindings onareportworksheet.Communicatesimpressionto theradiologat completionof eachexam.Demonstrates senseof responsibilityand maturitywhen oncall.Followsdepartmental QAstandards.Maintains,cleanes,and restocks
