    Job Description:


    As a Registered Nurse in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional healthcare to critically ill patients.

    You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and specialized care.


    Your primary responsibilities will include:

    Key Responsibilities:

    Patient Assessment:
    Perform thorough and ongoing assessments of patients' conditions, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assessing the need for interventions


    Critical Care:
    Provide specialized care to critically ill patients, including those with complex medical conditions, post-surgical recovery, and trauma-related injuries


    Ventilator Management:
    Monitor and manage patients on mechanical ventilation, ensuring proper settings and patient comfort


    Medication Administration:
    Administer medications, fluids, and blood products as prescribed, and monitor patient responses while maintaining accurate records


    Collaborative Care:
    Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans


    Emergency Response:
    Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies, including code blue situations, and provide immediate life-saving interventions


    Patient and Family Education:
    Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care


    Equipment Operation:
    Competently operate and troubleshoot complex medical equipment used in the ICU


    Infection Control:
    Strictly adhere to infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sterile environment


    Documentation:
    Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, including assessments, interventions, and progress notes


    Compliance:
    Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements


    Qualifications:
    Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in state of practice.
    BLS and ACLS certifications are required. Additional certifications such as CCRN or TNCC are a plus.
    Previous ICU nursing experience is preferred, but new graduates with a strong interest in critical care may be considered.
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions in high-pressure situations.

    ICU RN
    Perm Placement

    12 hr nights, 7p-7:30a

    BLS & ACLS required
    NH or multi-state license
    One year of nursing experience related to a specialty area preferred; one year of medical surgical nursing experience required. Telemetry and ICU experience required Must have experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
    Client utilizes Allscripts Paragon
    Must be able to read vital signs and provide injections/vaccinations
    Must be able and willing to float without hesitation
    2 bed unit (step-down unit nursing position that must float to Med Surge and regular ICU)

    Patient ratio is 2:1

    4 to 6 week orientation before going on to the floor- Hands- On Training
    Client will give tour of unit at interview
