- Ensure shipping and receiving priorities are identified and communicated.
- Organize all pre-shipment and post-shipment documentation to comply with all appropriate agencies, custom office, and shippers, clearing forwarding, and obtain all necessary import or export permissions.
- Providereports regularly on on-time delivery and production throughput relative to staffing inefficiencies.
- Coordinatewith internal stakeholdersregarding shipping priorities and potential issues.
- Continually improve safety records by addressing physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas.
- Providerecommendations for staffing resources
- Drive continuous improvement in the shipping and logistics department, focusing on improving system quality while driving down costs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent. May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of education
- 2+ years of experience in shipping or logistics
- Strong knowledge of shipping processes, transportation modes, and shipping regulations
- Familiarity with shipping software systems and technologies, such as warehouse management systems and transportation management systems
