Description
Job Description and DutiesThe Department of State Hospitals Napa is looking to fill multiple full-time permanent vacancies for the Pharmacy Technician classification.
Under the direct supervision of the pharmacist in a State hospital, to perform basic services in a pharmacy and technically pharmaceutically related duties which do not require licensure; and to do other related work.
Accurately prepares unit dose cassettes; checks ATC strips; fills medication drawers with prescribed doses; prepares medication labels, and assists Pharmacist with preparation of prescriptions.
rders medications and supplies to maintain level of stock; verifies orders received against purchase order, invoices, and requisitions; maintains records of prepackaged drugs; reviews pharmacy stock for expired drugs; labels and stores pharmaceutical supplies; Maintains patient medication profiles; delivers and picks up medications to the nursing units.
Operates packaging machinery and other office equipment; cleans equipment, shelves, and work areas; Performs other service and technical pharmacy work which does not require licensure.
Reviews and interprets physicians' orders; accurately processes initial orders; processes all faxed orders for medication as well as additional dose requests.
Coordinates Medicare Part D prescription drug benefits; assures medications ordered are in formulary; assures credits for all returns.Applications will be accepted until position is filled.
Multiple cut-off dates are set for application submission: January 4, 2024, January 25, 2024, February 15, 2024, March 7, 2024, March 28, 2024 and April 18, 2024.
