    Job DescriptionSalary:

    The Center for People is a dynamic non-profit organization that provides innovative services and programs to the low-income community in Lincoln, Nebraska, addressing basic needs and providing opportunities to achieve economic independence for our clients.

    The Center has been fighting poverty in Lincoln, Nebraska since 2003. We are the Food Bank of Lincoln's largest partner, distributing food to more than 5,400 low-income families. We are also home to Lincoln's first Diaper Bank, established to meet the growing need for diapers in our community. Education is the key to helping low-income individuals obtain economic independence. As such, the Center developed educational and training programs to help people obtain employment with a living wage.

    We are currently looking for a Business and Fund Development Program Manager. This position is a full-time, 40 hour per week, onsite position.

    GENERAL FUNCTIONS

    The Business and Fund Development Program Manager is responsible for leading the organization's fundraising efforts, including fundraisers, event sponsorships, legacy giving, capital campaigns, and the establishment of endowments. As such, achieving revenue targets will be a tactical function of this role. This role requires strategic thinking, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to mobilize resources and build partnerships with various internal and external stakeholders.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


    • Identify and engage with major gift prospects, including individuals, corporations, and foundations, and secure donations to support the organization's mission


    • Develop and maintain relationships with donors and stakeholders to secure gifts and ensure donor satisfaction. This includes providing regular updates to donors and other stakeholders on the progress of fundraising campaigns


    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including staff, board members, and government officials to increase awareness and engagement around fundraising campaigns and other initiatives


    • Advocate for the organization's mission and community impact initiatives to stakeholders and decision-makers, including government agencies, community-based organizations, and philanthropic partners


    • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, community-based organizations, and philanthropic partners, and ensure that the organization is well-positioned to receive funding and support


    • Represent the organization at relevant events, conferences, and forums to promote the organization's mission and impact


    • Provide regular updates to senior management and the board of directors on campaign progress and fundraising goals


    • Utilize CRM system to reflect prospects and calling efforts


    • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of gifts and pledges and develop systems for donor recognition and stewardship


    • Grow the financial health of the organization, meeting fund development goals and timelines


    • In time, develop and implement a comprehensive capital campaign and endowment-building plan


    • Support strategic leadership in response to affirming organizational goals


    • Operate following all contracts, government regulations, and Center for People policies and procedures


    • Exhibit high integrity and ability to set and maintain ethical professional boundaries


    • Maintain a flexible work schedule to ensure organizational needs are being met, including occasional evenings and weekends to support Center for People coordinated events


    • Other duties as assigned

    DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. community development, public administration, nonprofit management) preferred OR a minimum of 2 years of work experience in the fundraising field. Multilingual is a plus.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    ● Graduation from a senior high school or equivalent required

    ● Valid Nebraska driver's license and current motor vehicle insurance

    ● Must be legally authorized to work inside the United States

Work is primarily in an indoor setting. Occasional local travel for networking and community events. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
