    Sayres, a leading provider of defense support services to the DOD, is currently seeking an experienced Shipyard Production Manager with SECRET clearance, verifiable in DISS, in Mobile, AL

    As the Production Manager for T-AGOS 25 Class Auxiliary General Ocean Surveillance Ships, the individual will apply an in-depth knowledge and understanding of acquisition program and organizational relationships among PEO Ships, NAVSEA, Military Sealift Command (MSC), Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP) and American Bureau of Shipbuilding (ABS) in executing responsibilities to plan, direct, coordinate and effect the acquisition, production, Mission System Installation, post-delivery availabilities, and turnover of the T-AGOS 25 Class ships to MSC.


    • Provide assistance to the Principal Assistant Program Manager Program (PAPM) for the execution of the T-AGOS 25 Class detail design and construction contract

    Assist in managing and administering the construction contract dealing with the Program Office and the Contracting Officer providing required technical and engineering assessments for any shipbuilder submitted engineering change proposals (ECP) and request for equitable adjustment (REA) claims.


    • Direct preparation, research, presentation and publication of any formal engineering reports and documentation covering or resulting from systems development, production and project management related to the T-AGOS 25 Class shipbuilding program.
    • Apply high degree of managerial and technical knowledge of functional waterfront activities and defense acquisition processes while participating in Program Office strategic planning and policy development.
    • Establish and lead Integrated Product teams (IPTs) as appropriate to meet program goals.
    • Allocate resources as established by the Program Office and provide a reporting and evaluation system to measure/determine project effectiveness.
    • Exercise management responsibilities in the planning and execution of assigned projects while providing feedback to the T-AGOS PAPM regarding project status and significant issues.
    • Assist in all cost estimating and budgeting, project scheduling, configuration control, maintainability and reliability, value engineering, quality control, system/equipment interfaces and integrated logistics efforts related to T-AGOS 25 Class production and fleet delivery.
    • Develop, plan and manage contractual requirements for the program; coordinate technical requirements with the contracting office/contract organization.
    • Participate in the design and implementation of Program Office strategic goals and directives; forecast and manage workload.
    • Provide assistance and recommendations to the T-AGOS PAPM relative to the establishment and allocation of program resources including funding, equipment, personnel and facilities associated with T-AGOS 25 Class.
    • Assist with budget submit and development of strategies for programming, planning, budgeting and execution activities.
    • Implement acquisition strategy and program baseline and direct acquisition life cycle efforts; serve as recognized technical authority for the organization in applying advanced concepts, principles and processes for life cycle engineering and management of various systems, subsystems, equipment and procedures in respective area of responsibility.

    • Minimum 10 years professional experience in program/project management in Navy Ship acquisition
    • Experience with executing responsibilities to plan, direct, coordinate and effect the acquisition, production, Mission System Installation, post-delivery availabilities, and turnover of Navy Ships.
    • Excellent communication skills; experience in briefing technical and acquisition material to Flag-level audience
    • Ability to work in an industrial (shipyard/shipboard) environment
    • Active Secret clearance verifiable in JPAS.
    Preferred Skill Sets of Qualified Candidates


    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or Science discipline.
    • 15+ years DoD/Navy program management, Government technical management, or Industry business management.
    • Experience supporting PEO Ships, NAVSEA, Military Sealift Command (MSC), Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP) and American Bureau of Shipbuilding (ABS).
