    Position:

    The Director of Event Sales position is responsible for managing the event, sales, and reservations team and overseeing the continued growth of the entire department, including reaching the Sales Goals as well as executing all events in a professional manner for all venues.

    The Director of Event Sales key function is to ensure that the financial goals are met in a professional manner while always providing exemplary guest service. DOSM's responsibilities include, but are not limited to making sure that the team are soliciting, negotiating, and booking new and repeat business through outside sales calls, mailings, networking, staff training, etc. Primary sales efforts are in Banquet Food and Beverage and include menu planning, agenda setting, and meeting services. Duties also include contract review and facilitating communication before, during, and post-event with pertinent staff to ensure a high level of service. Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to oversight and management of the events and event spaces, new business marketing, and capturing sales for photography and filming.

    General Responsibilities:

    • Maintaining strong customer relationships
    • Participating in and leading event meetings
    • Managing the coordinators and operations support staff
    • Oversee and manage daily sales activities, event planning and execution.
    • Creating performance and development goals for managers
    • Develop and maintain great working relationships with key clients and outside contacts to increase revenue.
    • Building and updating collateral based on market conditions

    Financial Responsibilities:

    • Hit personal/team sales goals and maximize profitability.
    • Help prepare the departmental budget and financial plans, including marketing plans.
    • Create and implement sales plans that drive measurable increases in volume, food and beverage, and banquet sales.
    • Produce and review monthly reports and sales forecasts to analyze current/potential market and sales trends, coordinate activities to increase revenue and market share and monitor performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan.
    • Create and develop special events to showcase the locations to potential clients.

    Business Development Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with key business leaders, officials, and representatives of local community groups within the city to ensure constant high-profile exposure for the locations.
    • Effectively communicate and market aspects of locations to gain new business opportunities.
    • Work with advertising agencies, consulting firms, and vendors to maximize advertising investments and ensure ads represent brand identity.
    • Identify improvements to marketing activities and overall sales performance and work with other departments.
    • Oversee the development and execution of marketing campaigns and initiatives
    • Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify areas for growth
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activities

    Key Requirements:

    • A minimum of 5 years experience in Event/Catering Sales with 2+ years of Director level experience
    • Prior experience in restaurant and/or hotel operations is a must
    • Professional demeanor with the ability to interact with all types of clients

    Experience:

    Event Director level: 2-3 years (Required)

    A minimum of 5 years experience in Event/Catering Sales

    Work Location: In person

    Proven experience in sales and marketing leadership roles

    Experience in technical sales or technology-related industries is highly desirable

    Proficiency in using Triple Seat, Open Table or other CRM software

    Ability to manage a team and drive results through effective leadership

    Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make informed decisions

    Job Type: Full-time, On-site, In Person

    Salary: $115, $130,000.00 per year plus commissions
