    RESPONSIBILITIES


    Molokai General Hospital, a Queen's Health System Company, is looking for a Medical Assistant, OR Certified Nurse Aide, OR Nurse Aide to work Call-In on a rotating schedule.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing direct and indirect nursing care to patients in acute care, obstetrics, and emergency nursing.

    Molokai General Hospital is a 15-bed rural health care facility with a Critical Access Hospital designation. It provides the only emergency room for the residents and visitors on the island of Molokai.

    MGH became a part of The Queen's Health Systems in 1987 and provides acute care, inpatient hospice, skilled nursing, and low-risk obstetrical services.

    It also offers primary care in a rural health clinic, chemotherapy, limited specialty procedures, diabetes management, family planning, physical therapy (including aquatic therapy), veterans services and chronic disease navigation services.

    JOB SUMMARY/
    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible to the Director of Nursing and under the direction of the Charge Nurse.
    • Provides direct and indirect nursing care to the patients assigned to him/her during a given period of time.

    TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Essential: Seeing, hearing, speaking, standing, walking, stooping/bending, kneeling, finger dexterity, lifting weight up to 157 pounds, pushing/pulling weight up to 157 pounds, lifting weight up to 75 pounds, reaching above, at, and below shoulder level.
    • Continuous: Seeing, hearing, speaking, standing, walking, stooping/bending, twisting body, finger dexterity, reaching at and below shoulder level.
    • Operates Hoyer lift, beds, wheelchairs, gurneys, computer, and other office equipment.

    TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Both inside and outside environmental conditions; hazardous physical conditions; and atmospheric conditions which affect the respiratory system or skin.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    A


    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

    • High School graduate or the equivalent.
    • Graduate of an accredited School for Nurse Aide, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training, or nursing student having completed a semester of clinical fundamentals.
    • BLS/HCP level certification required.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
    • One (1) year experience as a Nurse Aide preferred.
    • Ability to relate effectively to patients of all ages, their families, and staff.
    • Ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality required.
