    Job Summary And Qualifications


    HealthTrust Purchasing Group's Performance Solutions / Robotic Service Line (RSL) provides support to the divisions and hospitals of HCA (180+ acute care sites in the US and UK and +150 ASC sites) on various topics including new technology acquisition, operational program performance, growth strategies, and contracting support. RSL also supports other HPG members with new technology education & assessment, contracting support, and financial & operational efficiency. RSL's support spans various service lines including general surgery, urology, thoracic, gynecology, oncology, orthopedics, spine, and neurosurgery.

    The VP of Robotics Service Line (RSL) reports directly to the VP of Performance Solutions and drives the enterprise‑wide strategy, deployment, clinical integration, financial performance, and innovation of robotic and computer‑assisted surgical technologies. The VP is responsible for five strategic pillars: Service Line Development, Physician Development, Program Development, Contract Development, and New Technology Assessment. Success is measured on overall robotics performance (volume, market share, etc.) and execution of business plan strategies, operational tactics, and contract strategies.

    What you will do in this role

    • Engage and support Field Service Line Leaders: collaborate with Division/Market RSL leaders, plan & lead RSL User Groups, assist with onboarding new leaders, and elevate growth initiative needs to proper teams.
    • Partner with divisions, hospitals, and HPG team members to launch and manage RSL pilots: evaluate business need, engage local teams, and monitor supplier support, technology adoption, operational impact, and business plan performance.
    • Create RSL resources and tools in the areas of analytics, strategic planning, and best practice development: develop new tools, provide dashboards and data tools, and attend conferences.
    • Partner with HCA Research Institute, the field, and physician leaders to advance the Robotics Research Strategy: support prioritization of internally funded outcomes studies, engage vendors, and develop outcomes registry.
    • Support Strategic Growth Initiatives: oversee capital planning & acquisition decisions, review business plans, communicate with markets, provide ROI reports, maintain robotic fleet, and enhance growth tactics.
    • Support Strategic Contract Initiatives: prioritize supply expense savings opportunities, develop strategic supplier partnerships, and execute planned tactics.
    • Develop RSL market knowledge and facilitate Division summits: support analytics development, participate in RSL meetings, and produce ad‑hoc reports.
    • Drive Operational Excellence & Scalability: standardize operating models, optimize staffing, optimize pathways, and maintain consistency across hospitals and ASCs.
    • Engage with Supplier & Industry Partnerships: lead relationships with technology suppliers, evaluate vendor performance, and represent the organization in industry forums.
    • Communicate RSL status and performance with leadership: create and manage advisory meetings with key stakeholders.

    What qualifications you will need

    • Bachelor's Degree - Required
    • Master's Degree - Preferred
    • 15+ years of related experience - Required
    • Experience in hospital and/or multi‑hospital‑system level service line planning (preferably Robotics) and understanding of clinical workflow in inpatient, emergency, and outpatient settings - Preferred
    • Understanding of major healthcare trends including managed care and reimbursement - Preferred
    • HCA experience or similar‑level Robotics experience outside HCA - Preferred
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and executive presence with senior leaders and physicians - Preferred
