    Air Reserve Technicians are full-time civilian employees who are also members of the Air Force Reserve unit in which they are employed. In addition to their civilian assignments, they are assigned to equivalent positions in the Reserve organization with a Reserve military rank or grade. Appointee's civilian assignments will consist of the following duties.


    Duties


    The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Force Support Squadron (FSS) Commander/Operations Officer. The position is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. The incumbent serves as the Senior Air Reserve Technician. This position plans, organizes, and manages the activities and support services of the organization. Incumbent makes technical and executive decisions for the squadron in all areas of functional responsibility.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:


    • Plans, organizes, and oversees the full complement of activities within the Force Support Squadron. Such complements could include but are not limited to Prime Ribs, Personnel/Human Resources, Education & Training, Airman, Family Readiness, Communications, Security Forces and, in some instances, Civil Engineering, etc.
    • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Directs, coordinates, and oversees work of unit personnel through subordinate supervisors. Advises staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of the installation commander or headquarters.
    • Makes a periodic, comprehensive assessment and evaluation of program goals/objectives which provide a basis for long-range planning to enhance the organization's management support capabilities. Establishes the mission and goals of the organization to correspond with command and Air Force strategic plans.
    • Represents the Force Support Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other organizations, outside agencies, and senior leadership. Delivers presentations on status of programs, accomplishments, problems, and requirements for support to senior military officers and civilians.
