    Description
    Position Summary: The Technician fulfills an important role in providing data that is critical to the doctor in order to provide proper care and treatment to each patient. This individual is responsible for various administrative and clinical functions, including obtaining patient histories, performing preliminary and ancillary testing, scheduling patients, preparing the exam room, and assisting the doctors with any exam needs. They ensure the practice's quality standards are met, while completing specific, essential responsibilities that pertain to the patient experience and effective communication.

    Essential Responsibilities:
    • Prepare patients and exam rooms for eye examinations
    • Perform preliminary eye testing while communicating the features and benefits to patients
    • Assist physician with patient procedures
    • Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor flow of patient care through the exam process
    • Occasional travel to support nearby offices may be requested
    Physical Demands (per ADA guidelines):
    • Physical Activity: Standing for sustained periods of time, Stooping, Grasping, Lifting, Talking, Hearing.
    • Physical requirements: Light work. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs on a regular basis from floor to waist, 5 lbs from waist to shoulder, and 5 lbs from shoulder to overhead.
    • The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
