As the only VECCS Level I Trauma Center in San Diego County, our ECC department is committed to caring for the veterinary trauma patient and is equipped to expertly manage all types of traumatic injuries in our state-of-the-art facility.
Our ECC nursing staff are an integral part of providing this level of care.Experience working in an environment that encourages collaboration and growth alongside our 3 board certified criticalists, ECC residents, and experienced ER clinicians.
About the Job:
As a Vet Tech in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) you will be responsible for:
Obtaining and reporting vitals, monitoring telemetry, monitor oxygen dependent patients
Must be able to prioritize patient hourly treatments and delegate tasks.
Triage critical patients, recognize changes in patient status and report to doctor, educate/update owners on patient status, discharge patients from the hospital.
Shift Info:
Day Shift 3/12-hour shifts; Minimum of 3 year of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting required.
Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required.
Partnership with Purdue VT program/scholarships~ Race approved continuing education, training and curriculum library
~ License application and renewal reimbursement for RVT's
~ Financial support and onsite mentorship toward pursuit of VTS
