    General Description:

    With the ever-growing market of all electric glass melting and electric boosting systems, KTGSI is looking to expand its electric melting division. The Electrical Projects Engineer position is responsible for designing, maintaining, implementing, and improving electrical projects. This position also designs, develops and supervises the installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems on site.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 5 years experience in industrial power distribution.
    • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Degree preferred. Alternative qualifications include a minimum 5 years experience and Associates Degree or graduation from an acceptable technical program.
    • AutoCAD experience with version 2010 or later preferred.
    • Must have advanced knowledge of electrical design principles.
    • Controls knowledge a plus.
    • Experience in glass plant, electric melting and electric boost a plus.

    Job Requirements:

    • Design low voltage power distribution to include power distribution panels, local distribution, control panels, motor distribution, and boosting transformers.
    • Specify and write up bills of materials and equipment specifications required for the above-mentioned power distribution systems.
    • Must be familiar with coordination, load, capacity, fault, studies, as well as, arc flash labeling.
    • Current code knowledge is required.
    • Develop single line diagrams, load and cable schedules and demolition drawings, and oversee these tasks as executed by others.
    • Supervise the work of outside electrical contractors.
    • Ability to communicate with client to determine client requirements and identify areas to improve client process and experience.
    • Ability to develop scope of work documents, along with engineering/material/construction estimates.

    Typical Duties:

    • Assumes responsibility for technical accuracy and constructability of finished designs.
    • Determines how complex control systems should function, including layout of initial design concept and determine drawing standards and perform detailed comprehensive checking of designs/drawings.
    • Use computer aided design/engineering methods to accomplish above duties.
    • Designing and specifying Electric Boost Systems.
    • On-site project commissioning.
    • Field supervision of Electrical Installations.
    • Performing conductive steady state water bath models.
    • Producing transformer specifications, for boost application.
