Job summary
The Houston Health Department is seeking a qualified candidate for a Customer Service Clerk to perform the following duties: Performs basic research and gathers necessary tuberculosis control information to resolve routine patient inquiries and responds to inquiries via mail telephone email and personal contact Receives and verifies completeness and accuracy of requests from customers processes requests and work orders utilizing a computer terminal or tracking system Performs data entry activities to update patient records within authorized limits Processes reports requests makes changes to update customer medical information Gathers or collects information to generate reports for Texas Department of State Health Services the Centers for Disease Control activity logs etc The position occasionally requires stooping or bending Occasionally very light lifting such as three or four reams of papers or books up to 20 pounds an equivalent weight may be required
