Job description
ARI Studio of Art is an established and growing art studio in Irvine, CA. We are dedicated to creating a positive, calm, and student-centered environment where every learner can explore their creativity and develop confidence through art. Our approach emphasizes patience, empathy, and individual growth, making art accessible and enjoyable for all students, including those with autism and other special needs.

Responsibilities:
- Design and facilitate individualized and group and private art sessions for children and young adults with autism or special needs.
- Create a nurturing, sensory-friendly environment that supports emotional and creative expression.
- Adapt lesson plans to meet each student's abilities, goals, and sensory preferences.
- Use a variety of art materials and therapeutic techniques (painting, drawing, collage, clay, mixed media, etc.) to encourage communication, motor skills, and social engagement.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other educators or therapists to support each student's development.
- Observe and document student progress, celebrating achievements and adjusting strategies as needed.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive art studio environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Art Therapy, Fine Arts, Special Education, or a related field.
- Experience working with children or adults with autism and special needs (required).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; patient, compassionate, and creative.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials for various developmental levels.
- Background in art therapy techniques is a plus.
- CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).
