    Overview:

    Dorsey Metrology International, a precision instruments manufacturer since 1955, has immediate openings. Dorsey is seeking a reliable, detail oriented candidate as a Toolmaker. Dorsey Metrology International, an established, family owned business, wants you to become part of the family Dorsey manufactures quality products and is looking for a motivated candidate with 3 or more years of tool-room experience. This person should have experience with manual milling machines, manual lathes, and precision surface grinders. Candidates must be comfortable with tight tolerances, .0002 or better. Candidates must be able to work independently.

    Responsibilities:
    • Read blueprints, sketches or descriptions and visualize the product.
    • Determine machine to be used to fabricate parts.
    • Determine the best suited process to make parts.
    • Make fixtures as necessary to hold and machine parts.
    • Set up and operate manual machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, Jig bore, Jig grinder and precision surface grinder, to machine parts.
    • Verify dimensions, alignments and clearance.
    • Follow quality and safety standards and procedures.
    Qualifications:
    • Highschool diploma or Highschool equivalence.
    • 3 or more years of experience working with manual machines.
    • Hold tight tolerances.
    • Experience working power tools
    • Capable of lifting 45lbs
    • Able to stand and perform repetitive work for extended periods of time.
