    Position Details
    • Employment Status: Full-Time
    • Position Status: In Office
    • Schedule: M-TH 10 hour shifts
    • Weekly Hours: 40
    Compensation: $ $23.00 per hour (depending on years of experience)

    Summary:

    The Clinical Support Specialist (CSS) providesa full range of critical support as part of a comprehensive medical team.

    Principal Responsibilities:

    Based on applicant skill set andbackground, primary duties of this position may include, but are not limitedto:

    1. Will participate and maintain aculture within The Corvallis Clinic that is consistent with the contentoutlined in the Service and Behavioral Standards Handbook. To this end,employee will be expected to read, have familiarity, and embrace the principlescontained within.

    2. Pre-visit planning and post-visitcoordination for patients, patient rooming, collecting patient vital signs,managing medication refills, point of care testing, documentation in theelectronic medical record, maintaining clinic flow, inventory management, assistingwith procedures and treatments, and communicating with efficiency anddiplomacy.

    3. The CSS may work under theclinical direction of the clinic providers, registered nurses as appropriate,and has a direct reporting relationship to the Practice Supervisor.

    Education/Licensure/Experience:
    • High School diploma or equivalent required
    • BLS certification within three (3) months ofhire required
    • One or more of the following required:
    - Successful completion of a formal medicalservices training program of the United States Armed Forces, OR

    - Current Oregon Emergency Medical Technician(EMT) license (basic or advance) and national EMT registration with theNational Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) OR

    - Completion of a nationally recognized accreditedlicensed practical nurse (LPN) training program; while progressing towards LPN certification.

    - Completion of a nationally recognized accreditedcertified medical assistant (CMA) training program, OR

    - Completion of a nationally recognized accreditedcertified nursing assistant (CNA II only) training program, OR

    - 1 year of successful experience as a MedicalAssistant in a healthcare clinic setting.
    • Intermediate computer proficiency required
    • Ability to successfully serve a variety ofdiverse customers in difficult situations required
    • Ability to provide service excellence, kindness,and compassion required
    • Skill in developing and maintaining professionalrelationships required
    • Ability to prioritize work demands required
    • Ability to interpret and follow policies,procedures, and protocols required
    • Basic applied math skills, includingcalculations and conversions required
    • Proven record of reliable attendance,punctuality, and successful performance with past and present employersrequired
    Knowledge and Skills:
    • Knowledge of patient care and aseptic technique
    • Ability to work well with providers and otherstaff
    • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneouslyin a busy, fast-paced environment while maintaining quality of work
    Physical Demands:
    • Requires extensive sittingwith periodic standing and walking
    • May be required to lift 20pounds
    • Requires use of computer,phone, and general office equipment
    • Needs adequate visual acuity,ability to grasp and handle objects
    • Needs ability tocommunicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or ontelephone
